Evaluation of Dorsal Scaphoid Displacement Using Posterior Radioscaphoid Angle in Patients With Suspected Scapholunate Instability: A Preliminary Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose To assess the validity and reliability of posterior radioscaphoid angle (PRSA), an indicator dorsal displacement scaphoid, in distinguishing wrists with without chronic scapholunate instability (SLI). Methods We prospectively evaluated 40 patients (22 men 18 women; mean age, 46 ± 13 years) suspected SLI radiographs computed tomography arthrography. Based on these data, 3 groups were defined: positive (n = 16), negative 19), questionable 5). An independent reader measured PRSA sagittal images using same procedure. Results The median values significantly lower group (98°) compared (110°) (111°) groups. difference between was not significant. best differentiation obtained a threshold value 103° (specificity 86% sensitivity 79%). Conclusions In this preliminary study, analysis offers quantitative tool for evaluation scaphoid cases SLI, including presenting initial radiography findings. Type study/level evidence Diagnostic II.

Distal scaphoid resection arthroplasty for scaphoid nonunion with radioscaphoid arthritis.
The authors compare the functional outcome of 8 patients treated by distal scaphoid resection arthroplasty for scaphoid nonunion with symptomatic wrist arthritis before surgery and after a minimum follow-up of 6 months. There was a significantly better range of radial deviation and grip strength at the time of re-examination. Significantly fewer patients complained of resting pain. By contrast ...

Various patterns of traumatic carpal injury have been described in the literature. Although the combination of scaphoid fracture and scapholunate ligament rupture in the same injury has been reported and these lesions can no longer be considered mutually exclusive, little information is available on management methods and the long-term results of such seemingly paradoxical complex injuries. Thi...

Purpose The purpose of this study is to report the association of dorsal wrist capsular avulsion with scapholunate ligament instability and to evaluate the results of an arthroscopy-assisted repair. Methods We retrospectively reviewed 10 patients with a mean age of 39.1 years suffering from chronic dorsal wrist pain. They underwent a wrist arthroscopy with an evaluation of the scapholunate liga...

Background & Aim: In radiographic evaluation of carpal instability, the standard method has been the measurement of a series of angles and the new triangulation ratio on lateral wrist radiograms. This study was undertaken to compare these indices in normal and unstable joints. Patients and Methods: Nineteen normal wrist radiograms along with 21 with plamar and 19 with dorsal instability pat...
